. In many institutions these professions may now be complimented with additional exhibition professions, providing creative, interpretative and technical skills.

Researchers and developers Researchers and developers utilise the museum's core and specialist knowledge to develop ways to present these ideas to the public. They work closely with curators and scientists to accurately portray information and designers to find ways to present this in exhibitions, print media, internet and public presentations.
Educators Devise ways to meet education aims of the museum, to promote outreach to other venues and over the internet. Contribute to the process of development and design to further education goals.
Designers Exhibition designers design exhibition displays. They confer with curators, art and museum directors, and trade show sponsors and other designers, and conduct research to determine the appropriate historical period, fashion, architectural styles and the most effective use of available space. They then produce sketches or scale models to guide in the construction of the actual sets or exhibit spaces. [source]
Graphic designers Graphic designers use a variety of print, electronic, and film media to create designs that meet clients' needs. Using computer software, they develop the overall layout and design of ... displays , design distinctive logos, and develop signs and signage systems. [source]
New media developers Carry out a combination of research and development work alongside production of computer based interactive media for display in an exhibition exhibit, or online.
Exhibition technicians Carry out duties in the construction, installation and ongoing maintenance of objects, exhibitions and galleries spaces. Exhibition technicians in larger institutions will specialise in particular areas, e.g. joinery, electronics, display design etc.

Some cross over exists in the duties of these and the previous set of professions. Curators and developers are charged with the task of presenting exhibitions, exhibition technicians are charged with care of objects on display, Conservators are charged with the care of collections.
